Terms & Agreement

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using SmartFolio you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract in India.

2. What SmartFolio is — and is not

• SmartFolio is a portfolio-tracking, cash-flow and tax-estimation tool. It shows information you enter or import.
• We do not recommend any stocks, mutual funds or other investments. We are not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, research analyst or stock broker, and not a chartered accountant, tax practitioner or lawyer.
• Nothing in the app — including scores, insights, tax-saving tips, AI Analysis and Genie chat — is investment, tax, legal or financial advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. It is general information to help you understand your own data.
• Scores, ranks and comparisons shown in the app (for example Health Score or "better than X% of investors") are indicative only, for your understanding, and are not a rating or certification of any investment.
• We never hold, manage or move your money or securities, and we never place trades for you. Every investment decision is yours.
• Investments in securities markets are subject to market risks. Past performance does not guarantee future returns. Please consult a SEBI-registered adviser, chartered accountant or lawyer, as needed, before acting.
• Tax figures are estimates based on the data you provide and the rules built into the app. Rules change and personal situations differ; verify with a qualified professional before filing or acting.
• Prices, NAVs and other market data may be delayed or inaccurate.

3. AI features

AI Analysis, Genie chat and voice entry use automated systems that can make mistakes, misread your data or produce outdated information. Always double-check important numbers. You are responsible for decisions you make using them. How your data is handled for these features is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly at mat.matvan@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One person per account; do not share or resell access.

5. Plans, payments and refunds

• Some features are free; others need a paid plan. Prices, billing period and any trial are shown at sign-up or checkout and may change with prior notice for future billing periods.
• Payments are processed by our payment provider. Subscriptions run for the period you choose. You can stop renewing at any time from Settings → Cancel auto-renew; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Except where required by law or stated at checkout, fees already paid are non-refundable. If you were charged in error, write to mat.matvan@gmail.com and we will fix it.

6. Your data

• You own the data you enter or import. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for having the right to import any statements or data you upload.
• You can export or delete your data, and delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Connected platforms

If you connect SmartFolio to a partner platform (for example Green Sigma), that platform's own terms apply to your use of it. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of data supplied by partners. You can disconnect at any time.

8. Acceptable use

Do not: break the law; attempt to access other users' data; probe, overload or reverse-engineer the service; scrape it; upload malware; or use it to mislead others about financial matters.

9. Intellectual property

The software, design and branding of SmartFolio belong to Mathivanan Muniraj (SmartFolio) or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while you comply with these Terms.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep SmartFolio reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may add, change or remove features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid plans.

11. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for investment or tax losses, penalties or missed opportunities arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using SmartFolio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or if required by law, giving notice where reasonable.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect; continuing to use SmartFolio afterwards means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you may have. Please contact us first at mat.matvan@gmail.com — most issues can be resolved informally.
